THE REVOLUTION OF 2016HISTORIC VICTORY FOR THIRD-PARTY SLATEAmid growing dissatisfaction with the polarization of the two-party system, America voted in the first non-Democrat/Republican ticket since the election of 1848. Governor Chris Christie, the Republican Governor of New Jersey who left the party in disgust after a series of high-profile disputes with the leadership, won a narrow electoral victory and avoiding what was sure to be a controversial battle in the House to decide the three-way race. The Democratic ticket of Senator Elizabeth Warren and Former Governor Martin O'Malley struggled from the start as a team of northeastern liberals, while the Republican ticket of Former Governor Bobby Jindal and Senator Rand Paul started out with a lead, but was dogged throughout by controversial statements about abortion and social security. That left an opening for Christie, who led a bipartisan ticket with former Indiana Senator Evan Bayh and was bankrolled by Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who endorsed the independent ticket early on. A narrow victory in the hotly contested state of Texas sealed the election for Christie around 3 AM last night. Now, the President-Elect will begin his transition with the difficult task of creating a bipartisan coalition for his Cabinet.
