It's not surprising when you consider that Asa Hutchinson is kind of a throwback to the '90s-era GOP that was very education-focused and viewed what children learned as a public issue, not the private fiefdom of parents who may not know or care to make that decision.

Instead of just saying, "I DON'T WANT MUH CHILDRUNS LEARNIN' THE EVOLUTION!!!", he's actually saying what he does want them to learn.
