Libertas would be fine if he just chilled out and took Bacon King's advice.

Not even asking ya to listen to anyone else here, but my god you have to at least realize that BK has your best interests at heart, as well as the power (in his case justly) to wield the Mod stick when necessary.

Sometimes discretion really is is the better part of valor.

(Of course, doing so would deprive us of yet another dumb "fun freedom-lovers vs. the PROOD BRUDE" clash, but that would be for the best as this so-called "prude brood" is not a thing that actually exists except in the fevered imaginations of its self-proclaimed opponents.)

The longer this argument goes on the more inclined I am to take Libertas's side. At this point it's difficult for me not to think he's being held to a different standard than somebody straighter or more conventionally masculine would be.

Y'know... you're probably right.

However, the fact remains that Libertas would be better received if he calmed down and dropped the persecution complex.  There isn't a shadowy cabal of posters who are conspiring to ban anything and everything they disagree with, that's just silly.  And said nonexistent cabal certainly doesn't lurk behind any and every attempt at constructive criticism.

Also, it's not worth arguing with Snowstalker.  Tongue

(the bizarre idea that this is ever a good thing is screamingly, nay, howlingly, bourgeois. In certain circles nothing gives away a trust fund and a private education quite as reliably as a hard-on for for urban misery)

Oh, man, I remember getting into that with opebo back in the day.  Think that was the moment when I realized what an awful human being he was.

(To be perfectly honest, there are certain of opebo's sins that I see in myself.  But that's sure not one of them, and at least I have a proper sense of shame about the whole thing.)

Even if we're going to accept the idea behind unbanning people (which I don't, it seems completely pointless, there is no net-gain here) why him, of all people?

The unbannings of Simfan and Aizen (and, Dave willing, Mechaman) are most certainly net gains.
