They will be inflated for the simple reason that this is by far the most boring presidential election since 1996 and the media is desperate for some action.

The DNC lineup of greatest hits will attract the MSNBC crowd, but Buttigieg, Whitmer, Polis will just bore the normies. So CNN, Fox, and the international media will go out of their way to find violence.
How is this election boring?
Boring might not be the best word. Embarrassing leading to apathy I think is a better view of the situation. The fact that these are the two candidates again highlights the problem with both parties at the present moment.

And yes, the convention will be bad. Not 1968, but likely the worst since.

People realize this is going to be a disaster, right? This convention is not going to end well and we're just sleepwalking into it.
