2004 was the first election I actually cared about and knew the importance of.

I still remember going to bed that night after 1 AM so disappointed.

Nothing like the day of numbness after election night 2016 though.

Yea, I was 15 back in 2004 and I remember that election very well. It was the first election I remember as well. I remember John Edwards speaking at around 1 am saying that they were behind in Ohio by around 150,000 votes. But that there was supposedly a few hundred thousand Democratic leaning absentee ballots not counted. That gave me a bit of hope as the night wore on. I went to bed at 2:30 am and knew things were bleak. I was able to skip school the next day and found out that Bush had carried Ohio and had won the election when I woke up the next day.

Yeah I was about that age too. But I had to go to school the next day and had to hear people say things "Yeah good now fags can't get married!" and "Dude but he kicked the sh**t out of Iraq!".

Ugh. It was bad.
