I believe that both the North Dakota Senate and House Minority leaders lost their seats last week.

ND Democrats had a very unfortunate night- it's lucky that the state holds split elections otherwise they would have been almost completely obliterated.

I for one welcome the pipeline.

Didn't Dems actually control a House of the  ND legislature at one point in the early 1990s?
Yeah they controlled the State Senate by one seat from 1987-1988, 1991-1992, 1993-1994 Sessions and they also controlled the State Senate by 11 seats in the 1989-1990 Session.

The Republicans have controlled "The State House" forever except for the 1983-1984 Session, the 1977-1978 Session was tied with the Dems holding the Speakership and The Republicans holding "The Chair of The Appropriations Committee" but both parties spilt other committees besides "Appropriations". The Dems also held a 21 seat advantage in the 1965-1966 Session.
