Bob Kerrey running for President?
Senator from Nebraska is founding an exploratory committee to take a look at his chances in order to become President.

July 6th

Senator Bob Kerrey is considering to run for the presidency next year. That is why he opened an exploratory committee in Lincoln, Nebraska, yesterday. During the event, Kerrey stated that after working as Governor and Senator for Nebraska, he believes that now is time to have an eye on the Presidential Office.

"This is nothing permanent yet, we are taking a look at our chances in New Hampshire, Iowa and South Dakota and then we will see how are our prospects nationally. I'm quite optimistic to be honest with you" told Kerrey to our correspondent in Nebraska.

Political Analysts, when questioned about Kerrey chances to get the the Democratic Nomination, told that although Kerrey stakes are not high, he may have a reasonable chance of winning. "Kerrey has a base, some fundraisers, if he is able to get momentum, he can get the nomination. I would try to get a few delegates up in Iowa and then go all the way down to New Hampshire!"

The path to victory for Bob won't be easy to find and Tom Devine, chief of Kerrey Exploratory Committee acknowledges that. " It won't be easy but his message of fiscal discipline will be very appealing to the south and on the midwest while his ideas on the war on poverty and his liberal record could give him the necessary bump on the other parts of the country."

Kerrey told at the Press Conference that his campaign is all about solving the poverty and debt crisis while strongly bringing optimism to the country. The last will be crucial if he really wants to be elected, there is no way to beat Biden, Gore, Clinton, Bayh,  Tsongas and Brown together and then highly popular President Bush without optimism and tons of good luck.

"President Bush is doing well in the Foreign Policy; that may be a truth for now, isn’t it? But what about his domestic policies? We are seeing the middle class shrinking, jobs are being outsourced to Asia and Mexico and Japanese are not competing fairly with our domestic products! And what about our Healthcare system that is deeply flowed? We need a President that knows when to stop talking about our great results under a Military Operation and that starts addressing the domestic issues!"

Rally in Rapid City, SD.

October 17th

Kerrey flies to Manchester, NH.
Meet & Greet in Manchester, NH.
New HQ and Rally in Manchester, NH.

"The debt is in an all time high and the crazy republicans keep saying that they are putting a solution on the federal deficit! That is a lie, President Reagan and President Bush have run all their years of government in debt and now we are paying billions on interest rates! As governor of Nebraska, I have fought for fiscal discipline and made a deficit become a strong surplus; I know how to fix this and it comes by recovering the economy with tax cuts for the middle class and it comes by responsible welfare reform, by a reduction on our cold war military spending and by broadening our tax base."

October 18th

New HQ in Nashua, NH.
Founds the Kerrey Raiders

“We need to have grassroots; New Hampshire will be very crucial to us if we want to win. That is why we are creating this national effort: “The Kerrey Raiders”. If you are a young boy dreaming about your future, go on and become a Kerrey Raider, if you are a family man worried about fiscal discipline, become a Kerrey Raider, if you are someone that have your health insurance denied because of preexisting conditions, then become a Kerrey Raider, and if you are a women fighting for your rights, then become a Kerrey Raider.”

October 19th

Meet & Greet in Nashua, NH.
Town Hall with James E Webb (that is sitting in a chair) in Nashua, NH.

“Hey pal, do you know how we can beat the Japan folks? One simple word and only Kerrey knows how to address it: Technology. We got to put an effort on our space agency; we have to make more investments on science development and we have to put an effort and useful technology, not on terrible Star Wars Programs. We need technologies that enhances our future and bring innovation to our markets!”

October 20th

Meet & Greet in Concord, NH.
New HQ and Rally in Concord, NH.

“America’s Economy needs a huge bump! But how do we do that? By cutting taxes on the middle class! This cut on the middle class tax burden will make consumption go up, it will make economical activity goes up, it make new business sprung up while new jobs are created. The tax cut will happen but, unlike Mr. Bush, we are not going to ride on more and more deficits, we are going to bring fiscal discipline to America in order to bring more investors and more confidence on our country!”

October 21st
Kerrey flies to Denver, CO.
HQ and Rally in Denver, CO.

“We have to put an end on the dumping that those Japanese are doing with us. President Bush is playing soft with them and we have to have the courage to set restrictions on them as well. If we can’t put our products on their markets, then I think that we are not going to let them enter in our markets! Free-Trade is only fair trade when both sides have the opportunity to get into the other, what we are seeing today is not Free-Trade, it’s Frick-Trade."

Larry King Interviews Senator Bob Kerrey - November 8th

Larry: Tonight here at Larry King we have Senator Bob Kerrey from Nebraska, a Vietnam veteran, former Navy SEAL, former Governor and a businessman that with his brother own several healthclubs that employs about nine hundred people all across the country. And now he is running for President. Well Senator, good evening!

Kerrey: Good evening Larry, pleasure to be here!

Larry: The pleasure is all mine. So Bob you are running against big names of the Democratic Party, such as Senator Gore, Governor Bayh, Senator Biden and Senator Harkin. Do you think you have chance with so many competitive names?

Kerrey: Off course I have Larry and you know why? Because I'm definitely not an usual politician, I never retreat of a fight and I always stand for my values.

Larry: Do you acknowledge that the other candidates may say the same thing of themselves, don't you?

Kerrey: They may say that but I'm the only one who is being honest to the American people. I will not mention their names, but there are candidates   over there that flip-flopped on several issues and I don't think that is the kind of people that the American people want. Besides that I have a great biography to offer and I believe that is another reason why people are going to vote on me.

Larry: So Senator, last week Al Gore made his pledge about universal healthcare, he told in a Town Hall meeting with supporters that he would expand Medicare for all Americans. What is your position on this particular issue?

Kerrey: Well, Senator Gore is making his pledge of universal healthcare just after this campaign started. During 1988, he never told us about Medicare for All. In contrast, since I got inside the Senate and when I was campaigning I have been fighting for single-payer healthcare to Americans. Right now, me and my friend from New York, Senator Moynihan, are trying to pass a comprehensive healthcare reform since the beginning of our tenure and it is called Health USA Act.

Larry: And what do you say about those who call Single-payer a too costly proposal for the American people?

Kerrey: They are just looking to the situation by a limited perspective, Larry. The level of federal expenditures on Healthcare will grow, but in the other hand Americans will not need to bother with premiums and out-of-pocket expenditures. We will need to raise taxes but we are going to save billions on administrative costs!

Larry: Now, another issue that called my attention! You opposed the flag-burning amendment! Is this right?

Kerrey: Yes. And you know why Larry? Because the United States is a democracy! Flag burning may be a hate speech, it may be a disgusting speech but it keeps being a speech after all that our Constitution protects. As a former Navy SEAL that lost my leg in Vietnam, I would be the first guy to oppose burning our flag, that is totally unpatriotic, but I would oppose it in the democratic way. Limiting our freedom of speech under the name of patriotism is not something that we should expect from a democracy; that is something that you would only see under the rule of the Third Reich.

Larry: Now talking about fascism, we are seeing a former Ku Klux Klan dragon running against President Bush under the Republican Primaries and getting momentum! How do you see that? Because, as far as I’m concerned, it’s surprising the way that David Duke is polling right now against President Bush.

Kerrey: President Bush is not a successful President and that is why many Republicans are turning against him. This would be totally normal if we didn’t know what was coming up. It surprises me that opposition to Bush is coming from the radical wing of the Party, Pat Buchanan and David Duke are just loonies, and, although Ron Paul has good intentions, we know that his ideas will never work on this country. I would prefer seeing other Republicans running against President Bush, not the ones that are showing up this year.

Larry: Well, on that particular issue, I couldn’t agree more with you Bob. Now, it comes up to our last question. You were one of the few Senators that stood up against the authorization of the use of force against Iraq after the invasion of Kuwait. It ended up that Operation Desert Storm was very successful mission and with a low number of casualties. How do you explain to the American people that vote?

Kerrey: As a former Vietnam soldier, I know how terrible is life when you are at war conditions. When I voted against the authorization of the use of force against Iraq, I got emotional and I thought of my previous years in Vietnam. They were the most horrible and creepy years of my life and I would never wish any person to pass through the same situation that I ended up living. I didn’t want to make Iraq our second Vietnam and that is why I didn’t endorse President Bush on that matter. You may criticize me for that, you may say that was the wrong decision but I won’t retreat from my cause and my principles. When I was elected as Senator, I promised that I would take care of our soldiers and that I would vote very carefully on each bill. During that time, the Administration didn’t provide me with proper information and I would never put the life of many Americans soldiers at risk if I haven’t had the guarantee that the conflict wouldn’t be the mess that the Vietnam War was.

Larry: Okay, that ends our interview Mr. Kerrey. It was great to have you here, good night Senator!

Kerrey: All I can say is that it was an honor to be here and I would like to thank you for this opportunity. Good night Larry and good night my fellow Americans; may god bless all of you!

People are always saying about the importance of the manufacturing industry and they are always pointing out about the importance of the high-tech companies that are springing up, but we shall never forget about the importance of farms all across our country. Whereas it is the ethanol sector or the food sector, it’s always agriculture that makes unemployment on states like Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska and Minnesota stays at a lower level than the national level!”

Rally in Ames, IA.

November 8th

Meet & Greet in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Rally in Cedar Rapids, IA.

“Many political specialists are saying that Iowa is not for the picks because Senator Tom Harking is running for President, but I don’t care what political specialists are saying and I will campaign in Iowa just like I would campaign on everywhere else! Let's just continue it. It will be interesting to see how Evan Bayh (a moderate Democrat campaigning on his labor credentials) v. Jerry Brown (A libetarian-ish Democrat who is campaigning on his populist credentials) v. Bob Kerrey (A midwest stronghold) pans out. (considering Harkin is kind of off the trail).

That sounds good to me but don't forget that Kerrey is a moderate as well. :/

Despite being a Senator from a red-state and unlike many folks in the race, I always stood up with my values and I never flip-flopped on issues like Abortion, the death penalty and balancing the budget. I appreciate the job of all of you and I hope that you can help me with your support.”

New HQ and Rally in Boston, MA

“ The last 2 weeks have been pretty turbulent and we have seen many candidate in our camp withdrawing and then returning to the campaign trail. I was the only one that never gave up of my bid and I’ll keep my fight to put this country back on track and put the middle-class and working families of America into the White House. We need boldness to change this country, we need single-payer healthcare, a balanced budget and tax-reliefs for the middle class.”

November 16th

Door to Door in Machester, NH.
Rally in Manchester, NH.

Speech of Bob Kerrey - Changing the Democrats

“After the landslides that we had in 1980, 1984 and 1988, it’s time to Democrats look to a new way of thinking and doing politics. We can’t stand anymore for the same old New Deal Coalition because this coalition is dead for a longtime and we can’t keep with the same old tax-and-spend. However, it’s also important to say that we can’t make ourselves became Reagan Democrats! The only way to save the Democratic Party and save America from Republicans’ incompetence is to choose another way of governing. The New Democratic Party that emerges shall fight for a balanced budget, it will have to be pro-business and pro-workers simultaneously and it must keep the values that the Great Society and that the New Deal tried to spread to America. The only way to make this new Democratic Party emerge is by endorsing Bob Kerrey for President! Together we can rebuild America, bring optimism back and change the way that we do politics under this country!”

" I have a great respect for the gay, lesbian and transsexual community and I have always endorsed legislation to protect and promote their rights. Hence, It’s with no surprise that I oppose any attempt of creating a federal ban on same-sex marriage and, as your President, I’ll fight for the creation of same-sex civil-unions! Our Constitution establishes that every American citizen have equal rights and it also made the United States of America a secular state, that is why trying to ban same-sex marriage across the country is obviously unconstitutional after all! The Gay Community will be safe under a Kerrey Administration and it will have its rights protected and expanded.”

"Do you know who is the man that is talking to Idaho? That man is Bob Kerrey! He is the only that is concerned about the great debates that our region is worried about. He has always opposed the creation of nuclear wastes on the Northwest and he has been a strong voice against water pollution! I’m voting in Bob Kerrey because he is the guy that supports the environment, the middle class and the interests of Idaho!"

November 23rd

Meet & Greet in Salt Lake City with Mayor DePaulis, UT.

"Salt Lake City is the most progressive part of Utah and I think that we know whom do we want for President of the United States and that man is Bob Kerrey. He is the only one concerned with the countryside of America; he is one of the few candidates concerned with the Middle Class; he has a strong record of fighting for the Environment, against Nuclear Waste in the Northwest and, one of the most important things, he is fighting for an Universal Healthcare system!"

Rally in Salt Lake City with former Mayor Ted Wilson and Mayor DePaulis, UT.

I think that Utah is in favor of balancing the budget. For too long Republicans are trying to deliver a balanced budget and tackle the deficit, still all we’ve got was a bunch of broken promises and a lot of Voodoo Economics that are harming the working people of America! As Governor of Nebraska, I’ve turned a 7-point deficit into a 3-point surplus and that is what I intend to do with the United States. Vote for Kerrey if you want Fiscal Responsibility!

November 24th

Breakfast with Wayne Owens, UT. (seeking endorsement – Ted Wilson helping Kerrey)

Rally with former Mayor Ted Wilson in Provo, UT.

Rally in Buffalo, WY.

"Well Wyoming! This is one of the states that we are getting a lead! This is the first of many others! We are going to get Iowa, New Hampshire and then we are going to get every thing else! And then we are going to take the White House and bring fiscal responsibility and prosperity for this country!"

November 26th

Meet & Greet in Boston, MA.

Ted Kennedy endorses Bob Kerrey in a Rally in Boston, MA.

Well folks! I’ve fought for Universal Healthcare for all my life, I battled every single time and I almost accomplished that with President Nixon! And do you know who was the guy that has fought for universal healthcare since the beginning? Bob Kerrey, my friends.

Now we are in the primary battleground! In 1980 I tried to deliver to the American people a strong liberal message that was needed to the White House, but I failed. Now, we have once more the opportunity to make great things for America and that is why I’m jumping in the boat of Bob Kerrey! He is a war veteran, a business man, a Governor and a Senator and he is the only one that can deliver a strong message of boldness and liberalism for this country.

Meet & Greet in Worcester, MA.
New HQ and Rally with Ted Kennedy in Worcester, MA.

"America needs Universal Healthcare! My plan, the USA Health Act, is the only one that can deliver single-payer healthcare system for all Americans! No more co-pays, premiums and absurd out-of-pocket expenditures, America needs good-quality public healthcare!"

That's fine with me, as long as polls are freezed from this point when we re-start in January.
What he said. It'd be unfair for them to change. Besides, according to my map, Gore's front runner.

I think we could give a resumé of what we did in December and then jump to January 1st, it would take then 8 days until the first primary Tongue

South Dakota should be a tie between Kerrey and Gore

PS: I will keep it up with this but I don't know what is going to happen because I'll travel some days :/

I'm with Superique and Spiral, and I believe that the December turn should last 72 hours so we have the time to prepare such massive schedules. We did the same in Spamage's 2008 Game, and it worked just fine.

Maybe 96 Hours. Cheesy

"I’m the only one that endorsed a single-payer Healthcare Insurance for every American since the beginning and I’m the only one with the executive and legislative experience to make it happen!  I already got the legislation into my hands, it’s called the USA Health Act and we need to enact it as soon as possible. It raises taxes but it ends with premiums, out-of-pocket expenditures and co-pays. Millions are uninsured and many others are struggling with low-quality insurance coverage; private insurance is failing, we need a new system of healthcare!”

Former Governor, Jerry Brown, will disagree with me on that issue but I’m totally in favor of death penalty on some particular cases! Heinous crime offenders like serial killers or rapist can’t be treated like offenders of smaller crimes! I think that we have to play tough on crime and don’t accept any atrocities like massive killings, inhumane aggressions and serial rapes!

However, I feel that life is too valuable and this is the reason why I believe that we need to be careful for not making mistakes! We need to protect our minorities and we have to ensure that everyone gets a fair trial. Furthermore, I would be totally opposed to see someone getting a death penalty if in other similar criminal cases people were not convicted with such punishment!

Dinner with Tom Daschle (Seeking Endorsement).

December 6th

Meet & Greet in Bismarck, ND.
