Yes, though the converse I'd prefer to is the 2000 U.S Senate election in Missouri. Democrats stole that one... And the worst part is Ashcroft was still a Senator, we might have had a more realistic/less liberty-trampling PATRIOT Act post 9/11. All because us Democrats decided to rig an election for a dead man.

I really don't think so. You think Ashcroft was egregious? The Bush administration pushed him to go even further and he refused. Surely the administration would've picked someone worse.
