I think I've tried this once or twice before, but it never went anywhere because I didn't have any maps ready.  But this time, I do.  I've been wanting to do a map thread for a while, but haven't been able to start it until now.  While I will be sharing ordinary election maps, I hope to also add maps of demographics and other related data.

So, first things first, here is my map of the 2010 Michigan gubernatorial election by city and township.  I used the map here on the Atlas, but I made some minor edits to show municipalities that didn't show up on the original.  I used the same color scheme that the main site uses, and I plan to for all of my election maps in this thread.

Well done! What demographic maps are you working on?
Probably some related to various Census statistics.

I know that southwest Michigan is very Republican, but I was surprised to see some townships in Allegan and Ottawa counties go over 90%.
It is, but there are some pockets of liberal strength around Kalamazoo and Benton Harbor.  Battle Creek is more of a swing region (which I can't explain), but Kalamazoo is home of Western Michigan University, and Benton Harbor is a rather poor community.

the maps are great, but ususally election results are in the appropriate election thread. i know Miles has put some of his statewide results maps in the Gubernatorial thread. I'd be happy to shift these if you want.
Go ahead, if you'd like.

I've decided to embark on a new redistricting project, in which I will be redistricting every state with multi-member districts and based on the original suggestion of one member for every 30,000 people.  I realize that the House would have over 10,000 members that way, but that's what make it fun and challenging.  Smiley  I'll be using Dave's Redistricting and posting the maps in a separate thread.

UPDATE: I'll be working on the redistricting project later, but for now, I'll be putting it on hold.

Some 2014 Rhode Island elections by town.  I'll be working on the ballot measures soon, too.

I've uploaded the county-level results on the main site.
