I'm guessing a formerly solidly Republican state that's shifted towards the Democrats yet still has strong traces of conservatism in its electorate, New Hampshire being a good example.
New Hampshire is still a swing state, though.

Probably West Virginia.  He'd do well in Kentucky too.

As a self-proclaimed RINO, how ' bout Maine?
I'm surprised that more people don't think I'm a RINO; I guess I'm a RINO in name only. Smiley

Simfan
Somewhere in New England to hang out with WASPy aristocrats, smoke pipes, discuss literature and commerce, and stare out at large panoramic views of the snow falling, all whilst sitting comfortably inside among the company of other rich WASPy dinner guests. I say Connecticut or Maine. New York possibly if you desired congress with other high-minded individuals in ivory towers.
Sounds like me or my ideal Republican.

Maybe Illinois, or Colorado (in the Denver suburbs.)  He would also be a good fit for Virginia's DC suburbs as well.
