Yes, it is already time to declare for the committees of the 56th Senate.

The four committees are:

1) Government Oversight and Reform
2) National Security
3) The Judiciary
4) Internal Affairs

I give five days. After that we will select chairpersons and handle other matters.

In-coming Senators, please finalize your declarations by noon tomorrow (5 July) and hopefully we will have enough to cover the spread. And thanks to Gass3268 for your flexibility!

Okay, two orders of business to complete now.

1) There are 48 hours for all those interested in becoming PPT to declare interest.

2) Committee membership votes, and if I'm assimilating all this information correctly, we have the minimum on two committees. Thus, we'll only hold a vote on the other two. There are 72 hours to do this.

Each committee has three members, so you should vote according to preference.

Gov. Oversight / Reform:

[  ] Napoleon
[  ] Yankee
[  ] TNF
[  ] TJ
[  ] Kalwejt

Judiciary:

[  ] Scott
[  ] Napoleon
[  ] TJ
[  ] MaxQue
[  ] Kalwejt

PPT declarations are expired - I'm willing to say it's Yankee, unless we absolutely have to have a vote between Yankee and Write In. Can we just dispense with that? Anyway, he's the tenured prof here as far as I'm concerned. Tongue You can't have his job.

Seriously, though, twenty-four hours remain for committee voting, and I believe two senators are left to vote.

Please select your preference for PPT:

[  ] NCYankee
[  ] Write In

Make it official, people! 72 hours or until we have six votes - I want to put this to bed.

Also, when the committee votes go final a little later today, could someone who has experience with it assist in tallying the preference votes?

And Yankee, I believe I PMed you on the VP legislative slots / agenda. Okay, think that's all for a little while.

Yankee is confirmed as PPT.

Max, would you let me know how you figure that, hopefully an efficient way, and if you wouldn't mind, would you do it? Thanks!

Folks, I'm sorry, but I need some clarity. Max, that is fantastic, but I don't understand it. I am inferring that my services are needed to break a tie, which I will do gladly and fairly and expeditiously, but I am not certain what tie there is to break or who the people are that made it on those two committees. There are just names and numbers.

So,
1) Who made GOR and Judiciary and 2) who is tied?

Thank you, sir! Now that I have the results I can retro-solve your calculations.

Okay, so here's what I have:

I'm casting the tie-breaker for TNF.

So,
JUD: TJ, Max, Kal
GOR: Nap, Yankee, TNF
NSC: Nap, Gass3268, Kal
IA: Scott, TNF, Gass3268

Look good? Okay. I think. NSC and IA come from Yankee's earlier post.

So there you have the committees. A minimum of 24 hours now to declare for chairpersons, and really, guys, it would be great if amongst yourselves you could just work it out.

Okay, it looks this way, then, the chairs in bold.

JUD: TJ, MaxQue, Kalwejt
GOR: Napoleon, Yankee, TNF
NSC: Napoleon, Gass3268, Kalwejt
IA: Scott, TNF, Gass3268

NSC Chair candidates are Napoleon and Gass3268. Please cast your vote for one of them. It says, "the committee shall select one of its members to serve as chairman of the committee."
