American mass produced beer: 1. Yuengling 2. PBR
IPAs: 1. Surly Furious 2. Bell's Two Hearted 3. Stone IPA 4. Sixpoint Bengali Tiger
Honorable mentions: any of Southern Tier's Imperial offerings, Goose Island's Bourbon County stout, Victory's Golden Monkey and Prima Pils, and, for everyday drinking, good old Yuengling Lager.
Or, really, pretty much any Belgian tripel. That's the best style.
Ever had Westmalle tripel? I drank so much of that stuff when I was in Paris earlier this year. I had been an American IPA chauvinist, but its amazing the flavor that a tripel can pack into a light, drinkable package. Unfortunately, it's ridiculously expensive in NYC. I saw Westmalle at the liquor store in Prospect Heights for $6 for a normal 12 oz bottle. That's just insane.
