NJ State Senate overall results: Each party had candidates in 39 districts out of 40.

GOP candidates: 926060 (51.94%)
Dem candidates: 856916 (48.06%)

That of course was not enough to break the vicious gerrymander.

Krazen, are you sure about a dem gerrymander? I thought that the independant redistricting commitee had favored the Pubs: dems and Pubs have the same number of representatives, and New Jersey is a blue state!

That was the case in Congressional redistricting my good sir. Congressional redistricting was done with the GOP map.

The numbers posted are for legislative districts, which was the Democratic map.

Thanks for this info, I didn't know.
