I don't like the way its presented. The make the age old screw up of mistaking bailouts for the stimulus. But its content that matters and what can I say, I like it. Particulary the Unemployement extension, and Job Creation tax credits.

Tax credits are a terrible way to create jobs.  Firstly, they don't actually create any jobs during the downturn, so they can't be stimulative.  All they do is slightly accentuate job-creation during the upturn.  No, the way to stimulate employment during the depression is direct government hiring, government spending, and contracts.

If we hire a person Monday morning to work for the government, by Friday he recieves a thousand dollars (assuming reasonable wage-rate).  By the next monday he's spent it.  That doesnt' happen with some bullsh**t tax-credit.

Well, opie, I think that at this point, speeding up hiring would be the way to go. We really do need Federal Employment, too. We have to do everything that we can. The only problem at this point is the "D" word, but its only a problem if we don't make enough money to make a return on it...
