If so, what sparks it?

I don't think we'll have another real Revolution for a very long time.  We may have political shifts, like the election of FDR in 1932, or of Reagan in 1980, which alter the landscape for years to come, but I don't think that is the type of Revolution that you are referring to.

Not in the traditional sense. In a technological sense, possibly. As for what sparks it, I'm guessing either a war or a group of very talented inventors.

Yes, the question of whether (or when) the US will change the fundamentals of their republic and in which ways, is interesting.

No, I don't believe we are at all. People have become too complacent.

Not in the current situation. Political conciousness and awareness is at all time lows. I personally blame mass culture.

I think the US government should start taxing teabags, American flags, and domestic beer very heavily just to see what happens

No, the average citizen has become too lazy and content.

Food and Oil prices would have to rocket for that to happen I'm afraid. Rocket to the extent that the third world becomes an uninhabitable zone.

Yes, the Great Health Care Revolution of January 2010. Afterwards, the Democrat Party will be outlawed by the Supreme Court and Sarah Palin is crowned Empress of the New American Republic (= the former United States sans New England, but with Alberta, Israel, and Iraq as new states). Joe Biden will continue to lead a government-in-exile located in Burlington, Vermont though.

Not at all.

We'll do what we always do: vote slightly different characters into office and pretend that by doing so we changed the world...only to be either disappointed or hackish afterward.

No, and it dismays me how much the right talks about it. A militant revolt will never occur, at least under the current circumstances. You would have to see things plummet to third world levels, something not feasible at the moment.

I'll join a national front of the left or right. Any kind of revolution would be exciting.

I think that pretty much sums up your entire career of posting here on this site.
