Is Bassam Mahmoud Tarhini a Hispanic?

Is he a ‘Mexican’?

Well, he was not only an alien illegally residing in the United States, but was a “person of interest” to a Joint Terror Task Force before being deported.

Of course, he received help from Senator Reid’s former Press Secretary (Diana Tejeda) in trying to remain in this country via subterfuge.

It didn’t work.

Given the rather silly propensity of many posters to conflate the term ‘illegal alien’ with ‘hispanic” or “Mexican,” I ask if Tarhini was a ‘hispanic’ or ‘Mexican’?

How about we just kick you out of the country? That way, you don't have to worry about people entering the US, and whether or not they are Hispanic.

Of course!  When I clicked on this thread, I was like, "I bet this guy has received assistance via the subterfuge of Harry Reid's former Press Secretary, Diana Tejeda."  Called it.

Also, yes, obviously a Hispanic.  If he were Middle Eastern, his name would be Tahini, which I believe is also the name for a popular regional sauce for foodstuffs.

Sounds like a North Carolinian.  I think they're pretty decent people.  No need to kick them out.

I'd rather be rid of North Carolinians than browns.

Zarn,

I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you do not understand the background which led to this post.

Now, I have maintained that the laws regarding entry into the United States should be obeyed.

My opponents have claimed that advocating enforcement of such laws is antihispanic.

Apparently you do not share my desire to follow the law.

Once the Moorish Caliphate is re-established in Al-Andalus due to the liberal naiveté of the New York City planning board, Osama bin Laden will be doing the flamenco at his new capital of Cordoba, all Arabs will be Hispanic and vice-versa, and then we'll see whether you're all so smart.
