IYO, what's the order of GOP candidates in Iowa after caucus results are in? In other words, who comes in 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc in Iowa?

Assuming nobody drops out (which is an incorrect assumption, no doubt).

Paul
Romney
Bachmann
Gingrich
Santorum
Perry
Huntsman
Johnson

Extremely hard to call at the moment - the race is really in flux and six candidates are playing seriously in Iowa. Here's a guess, though:

Gingrich
Paul
Romney
Bachmann
Santorum
Perry
Huntsman

This would be my guess for the current race.  I question whether Gingrich will be able to maintain his top dog position through the holiday season.

There was a similar thread from October.

I'll dust off a scenario I speculated about last year and make it my prediction: A cluster- Romney, Paul, Gingrich and Bachmann- all finish within a 2 point radius of 18, Perry low double digits, Santorum high single digits, and Huntsman (not even competing) gets close to 5%.  The momentum off of Iowa goes a bit to the literal winner but even more to the "race wide open" meme.  *Sorry.  Unless that is Bachmann wins by a nose in which case her revival becomes the big story.

I'm going Paul, then Romney. Gingrich will do / say something stupid before then. Donald Trump might help him do that.

1) Gingrich
2) Paul
3) Romney
4) Bachmann
5) Perry
6) Santorum
7) Huntsman

Basically this.  The top two should be an anti-Romney and Paul, in some order.  Third should be Mitt.  Huntsman 7th and Santorum 6th.

Gingrich - 24%
Paul - 21%
Romney - 20%
Bachmann - 17%

-GAP-

Santorum - 8%
Perry - 7%
Huntsman - 2%
Everyone else (Johnson, Roemer, Krager, etc.) - 1%

Should be a nail biter.
