Apparently the Washington caucus results are "a setback for Ron Paul," even though he came in second and performed at nearly double the level he was polling at.  Meanwhile, they aren't at all a setback for Rick Santorum, the ostensible secondary frontrunner, who came in third when he was polling in first as late as last week.

There was a time when ignoring Ron Paul was due to a bias against him.  However he has won a total of zero contests, not one.  The "win the caucus" strategy not worked.  Santorum on the other hand has won caucus's and primary's

Not winning what should be one of your best states is a "setback" by any reasonable definition of the word.

Be patient. If Mittens wins Ohio, it will be Rick's turn to have the term "setback" applied to his cause. In fact, he already got a dose of that from his Michigan loss. The media in general doesn't understand delegate selection math much anyway. They like over-hypping individual contests, exaggerating their individual importance. What are really important are the winner take all, or quasi winner take all states. The media doesn't understand that much either.

Any other candidate but Ron Paul would be getting absolutely no attention at this point and being told to drop out. The guy hasn't won a single contest, is polling fourth nationally, is last in delegates, and has been third or worse in nearly every state.
