The dude is STILL held up in the house?  And he has no hostages?  What the hell is going on?  Are they just hoping he kills himself so they don't have to do anything?  I sympathize with the neighbors who just want to go back home.

Well, he is shooting on policemen when they come near. He injuried two.

And, considering the public attention and the election next month, the government wants than nobody is killed.

So they are just going to wait until......he dies of old age?  If he doesn't have hostages, they should give him 15 minutes after they are ready to go in.  They have hundreds if not thousands of dudes who've spent many hours training to do this very thing.  It's their freaking job.  Let them do it.

Yep, he's still there. Of course I want this to stop soon, but I also understand they want to preserve the lives of everybody. They were negociating yesterday, so maybe there's still some hope he surrenders. If he doesn't today, I think they'll probably intervene.

Apparently explosions have been heard inside the building. It is unclear whether they have intervened or not.

Edit : Just heard they have entered. Crossing fingers for everything to go well.

By decency, too.

By religion, too. Only God has the power to decide who lives and who dies. Humans shouldn't do usurp God power.

That of course depends on which religion (or religious ideas) you choose to follow. Certainly many religious people would disagree with this.

Still, in order to apply the death penalty to the Toulouse terrorists it would have to be reestablished through an ex post facto law. To retroactively increase the maximum sentence for a crime is considered unconstitutional in most democratic countries of the world, among them France.
