As the best television show currently in production, I think Breaking Bad deserves its own thread. Discuss.

For those poor souls who have yet to watch Breaking Bad, the simplest way to sum it up may be this: Watching Ned Flanders slowly turn into a bad guy like Tony Soprano (hence the title: Breaking Bad)

For those who watch the show, what is your favorite moment? I still think the last episode of season 3 is the best, particularly the last five minutes: "6353 Juan Tabo, Apartment 6...Yeah."

Can't wait for season 5...

I marathoned my way through all four seasons over the past couple months. It's a hell of a show.

Walt has made a ton of enemies, but it seems most likely to me that Jesse will find out that Walt poisoned his girlfriend's son and kills him. He was ready to do that when he thought Walt used the ricin.

The two biggest "holy crap" moments for me were in Season 4. First, when Jesse was going to go confront the two dealers that killed Combo, I figured Walt or Mike or someone would catch him and stop him. Not that Walt would come speeding in, running over the two dealers with his car and then grabbing a gun and shooting one in the head. Second was the Gus's death. For the "Gus straightens his tie, then you see half his face is blown off" part, and also Hector's absolutely twisted visage as he's ringing the bell. (Incidentally, I love how the show nonchalantly introduces characters like Mike or Hector who become major players.)

You may want to add in some spoiler alerts, man.

*Spoiler alert* How pissed off do yo think Mike is going to be now that he's unemployed? Then again, since Hector was involved he may think the Cartel was behind the hit. I suspect the car wash is going to become the new lab in some way. Funny enough, it will probably be Skyler that lures Walt back into the business. She likes the money too much. I would bet on Jesse or cancer killing Walt. Jesse will definitely want to kill him if he finds out about Jane and/or Brock. Perhaps Walt's cancer will come back Steve Jobs-style, and Walt will tell Jesse about that stuff on his deathbed, hoping Jesse will put him out of his misery. However, if that happens I would bank on Jesse just leaving him to rot. I would definitely bet heavily on the show ending with the death of Walt. Jesse is probably the only one who is going to come out of this alive and free, but even that is not assured. You never know what kind of shocks they'll manage to come up with next, especially after the two shocks you mentioned along with the plane crash at the end of season 2.

I love the show but I still have not watched season 4 yet, so I chose not to read anything in this thread beyond the first post.

Broadcasted in France on arte.

That's been, along with the 1st season of Lost (the 1st one only), the only not sarcastic American show that succeeded to catch me. Well, it still caught me in a kinda weird way though. If I randomly fell on it, I was just stuck, and I went through the 3 episodes (been aired 3 by 3 here), but if I knew it was being aired, I paid attention not to fall on it, thinking 'oh no, gonna be stuck...'. lol.

Would still have some logic though, I never found a big interest in the scenario, then don't care much of the story, but dunno, the ambiance, the characters, even if sometimes it's still a bit cliché, if I happen to be on it, I'll stay with them.

Ah, and this Skiner is as appealing as she is annoying, both in a very American fashion.

Only eight votes? Clearly some of you need to start watching Breaking Bad. I cannot stress enough how good it is.

I follow the SA forums rule of once it's aired in North America, it's not a spoiler.

I think Mike, being a consummate professional, will just shrug and either disappear or go to work for Walt. He's probably the least of Walt's problems, considering how many more vengeful and bloodthirsty people were involved in Gus's empire.

The consensus around the internets, from what I've seen, is that the car wash will become the new meth lab.

Yeah, I think people like Mike too much for the producers to allow him to just disappear. He'll probably end up becoming Walt's muscle. Speaking of Gus, I still cannot get over how well they made his curtain close:

Look at the little things like Gus putting on the suit he wore the day that Hector killed his partner back in the '80s. He had that waiting in his office for the particular day he decided to finally kill Hector. You cannot fault Gus for finally messing up. I mean, Hector was Gus' only weak spot, and who foresaw Walt turning into the type of person who poisons kids and turns seniors into suicide bombers? Gus even took the precaution of having Tyrus sweep the place twice. As ruthless and cunning as Gus was, Walt one-upped him finally. From the music to the dialogue with Hector, to the way Hector looks at Gus, to the few seconds Gus had to figure out what was really happening...the whole thing was just brilliantly done, save perhaps for the tie-straightening moment (although it did elicit a "WTF!?" out of me the first time I saw it, which was the secondary purpose with the primary purpose being to avoid speculation that he survived the blast).

Why is there not an active discussion about this season? This is the best entertainment on any medium right now. Am I the only one who caught last night's AMAZING episode? This is the first time in my entire life where I schedule an evening around making sure I always see the latest episode of a TV show. It's THAT good.

Good material about the show in the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine: http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/on-the-cover-breaking-bad-stars-bryan-cranston-and-aaron-paul-20120801

The show is excellent. I thought the plane crash subplot a while back was pretty silly, but other than that, top notch.

What did you think? I think it is the best episode since the season 4 finale.

I enjoy it, but I've only seen a few episodes. One day maybe I'll have the patience to sit down and marathon through, but not as of now.

Yeah, I am two seasons behind now, because you get burnt out if you don't marathon fast enough.

Season 1 was kind of slow, but it picks up and you literally can't stop watching. I marathoned it this summer the 2 weeks leading up to season 5 beginning. Best show on TV.
