Anybody else excited for this? There Will Be Blood is basically one of my favorite films ever and it seems like this could rival it, so yeah, I'm looking forward to it.

I really don't like PTA.  I think he has a bad tendency to go on tangents in his stories which drag it out unnecessarily.  Punch Drunk Love was the only film of his I've really liked.  But I'll give it a chance.

Funny because PDL is the only film of his that I did not like.

If The Master is half as good as There Will Be Blood, which appears to be the case, we're in for a treat.

Amazing acting, classy cinematography, a suitable soundtrack...but I simply did not like the story. I did not really care what happened, nor did I learn anything I did not know before.

Overall, this film pales in comparison to There Will Be Blood. That said, it probably took him half a decade to make another film because of the stress of trying to top a masterpiece like TWBB.

I don't know, I might give There Will Be Blood a tiny edge over this one but it comes damn close to it. I sort of expect to be in the minority on that though.

Both movies are incredible imo.

It's in one way the polar opposite of TWBB, TWBB was a bit building epic story, this barely has a plot at all. That's not necessarily a bad thing in this instance, but a notable difference.
