The GOP is deliberately stalling these appeals nominees. Cause these appointments are gonna change the conservative balance. Frist was gonna do it that's why the Dems backed off on Alito. Merkley knew filibuster reform needed to be adopted. Best we can hope is the GOP stand down or face consequences.

Like the Democrats 10 years ago.

Noting that parties flip sides on the filibuster depending on who is in the majority is not particularly new.

Republicans folded for the second or third time this year under the threat of changing filibuster rules. Not really surprising considering the fact that even if they regain a senate majority next year, Obama will still be in office to veto everything they send him.

And what's more, the senate map in 2016 is just as brutal for them as it is for Democrats in 2014. So even if a Republican wins the White House, Democrats can still block him the same way Republicans blocked Obama's nominees.

This deal is a sham deal, what will it do to stop the GOP from block the likes of Halligan. Reid should have threatened it on judges too.

I wish more people in your party would see this. The filibuster is nothing new and isn't going away.

This deal is only tentative, but fight isn't over. Just like these nominees got their day in senate, CRT of appeals nominees are still waiting and should receive same treatment.
