Is there actually a deforestation problem in the Northeast? Are lumber companies currently operating in an unsustainable manner?

Why should there be a maximum age for trees to be cut down? I don't see what special benefit a 250-year old tree provides as opposed to a 150-year old tree.

Part 5 seems ridiculous to me. Confiscating 5% of all profits will drive businesses out of our region in droves, and those that stay will be forced to increase prices considerably. It also needs to be whether this refers to annual profits, quarterly profits, monthly profits, etc.

We already have some pretty comprehensive legislation about forests.

Because the sponsor, former Rep. Earthing, hasn't spoken on behalf of the bill within 36 hours and there is other pending legislation in the queue, this bill is tabled.

We will move on to the next bill shortly.
