One of the things I mentioned in campaigning was greater legislative flexibility. I agree that more activity is useful, but I am also concerned about us running out of things to discuss. How about we start with two slots and open up additional ones depending on how many bills there are in the queue?

Sure.  Perhaps we could either include a quota or leave the third slot to the discretion of the Speaker.

The Appointment List Bill was recently passed by the Legislature, so anyone in the IDS who would be interested in a potential appointment to the Legislature is welcome to post in this thread and declare their interest in being included on the list. I intend to PM some citizens of the region tomorrow, to let them know about this.

How do we feel about overhauling our R&P?  As a Rep, I've noticed that the Legislature tends to interpret these rules very loosely.  For example, we frequently use the third slot for regular legislation instead of emergencies and budgets.  Having two slots is rather inefficient and slows down the Legislature, but I'd rather follow the rules honestly and amend them so that they conform to traditional procedure.

We do need to amend them - I interpreted them loosely, because a lot of them were excessively cumbersome in comparison to our previous way of doing things. Mandatory periods for objections before certain actions, for instance, really does bog things down.
