A response from Moderate Von Hero:

I guess I might as well defend my actions in light of the attacks, shouldn't I?

First things first, Maduro is not President in this timeline. I made a mistake in not checking every single GM thread (seriously, we need a thread for these things), but Maduro is not President. Thus, and unlike what the Senator would prefer, the people of Venezuela are currently thriving in the wonders of the free market and democracy (which, by the way, works, and very well). Now, I could perfectly point out many things here, starting from the fact that half of Labor disagrees with the Senator (and I'm willing to bet even his presidential ticket does, given their support for Ukraine), or the fact that the last time we chose to follow a massive scale down on the military we were attacked in a vicious and treacherous way.

Perhaps he would prefer to give up our security for the sake of his class war, easily, but one thing I know for certain is that a majority of Atlasia will never follow such a ridiculous concept. "Si vis pacem, para bellum". Ever heard of that one, Senator? You might feel inclined to lower funding to our military and intelligence services again and again for the sake of some ideological dream (which involves such economic-friendly projects), but if I have to go again against your usual terror campaign and return to the "Bombs Away Lumine", I'll be glad to do it so we can defend this nation against such the dangers of isolationism. I've already gone through this twice, and I shall welcome the challenge posed by your vicious and empty rhetoric. Did I say empty? I, ModerateVonHero the do-nothing Senator and Governor? Yes. The Senator will always use concepts we have heard decades ago, concepts like class war, syndicalism, a death to capitalism, typical old and tired words from the Cold War that he can't forget or let go of, even when capitalism and real democracy has triumphed across the Western World.

A small notice to the Senator, so he doesn't forget:

The Berlin Wall fell twenty-five years ago, Senator, and your fringe ideology (which I do not believe your party shares) lost before Atlasia was even born.

If Venezuela lost a war I doubt it's a very nice place right now.
