Hi,

My Current Timeline ("The Romney Downfall - or is it? - and beyond") will be suspended after the 2016 presidential election part is complete. It is possible that I will continue it at some future point, but for now it will be stopping after 2016. This is because I'd like to change course and start a new project. However, I have a bunch of ideas floating around in my mind that I can't decide between, so I decided to let you guys choose what you want me to write. Below are brief blurbs of each of the options. Voting will conclude whenever I finish the 2016 part of "Romney Downfall".

Option 1: A Different Big Accomplishment: (2009) Obamacare fails to pass the senate, as Ben Nelson continues to refuse to vote for the bill, due to no republican pledging to vote for it. Obama is forced to give up on passing ObamaCare and instead pursue a large immigration reform measure as his big 1st term accomplishment. This totally changes the republican attack basis on him, and alters future election results....

Option 2: The Spectacular Ousting: (1984) Despite polling showing leads of 15-25 points nationally and at least a 5 point lead in nearly every jursidiction, Reagan narrowly loses the 1984 election to Mondale after 5 1/2 weeks of intense recounts in the closest states. The result is a very different path for the country....

Option 3: The 1968 Deadlock: George Wallace does not make an attempt at northern states in 1968, and instead only campaigns in TX, AR, LA, AL, MS, GA, FL, SC, NC, TN, OK, and MO. The result is an increased Wallace showing in those states, and a deadlocked electoral college. As the electors and eventually congress prepares to choose the next president, it is up to Wallace to try to force changes in the civil rights act, and influence the actions of the new president...

Option 4: President Gore: Pretty self explanatory, Gore ends up winning Florida by about the same margin Bush did in rl, and therefore gets to be president...

For any of the options, I would go through at least 4 years, if not more, before switching over to something else. Also, do note that your choice not winning does not mean it will never be written. This is only to determine what is written first, after writing the winner, I may turn to the writing the less popular ones. If there is a tie in the vote, then I get to cast the tiebreaking vote, obviously.

Well, decide on your input, and feel free to comment with suggestions/thoughts/explanations/whatever. (Note: Suggestions for the rest of Romney Downfall will be ignored, as I have already figured everything out for the 2016 part of that timeline)

Both 3 and 4 are cliche, but that's why we want to see them.

Option 2 hasn't been done before, but all of them sound interesting.

Write-in: Option 2.5 (1972) Watergate breaks out in time to give McGovern a landslide victory.

Oh, alright Option 2 as a Ferraro Vice-Presidency would be fascinating.

I like 1 and 2 the most, but all happily read any of the first three options. I voted for 2.

Seeing this again, I feel that "A Different Big Accomplishment" would probably be the best seeing as it's the most original and can go into more future type things.
