As I'm not allowed to vote yet, I'll just cast a symbolic ballot here. Good luck to all the candidates. I'll be watching the results as they come with deep excitement.

REPUBLIC OF ATLASIA - In Dave We Trust
Official Ballot

READ THIS FIRST

1. The election will last 72 hours, starting at 0:00 EST Friday February 20 and ending 0:00 EST Monday February 23.

2. You are eligible to vote in this election if you have made 10 posts on the Atlas Forum in the past 8 weeks, have registered as a voter with the Registrar General more than 7 days before the start of the election, and have not had your voting rights stripped as a result of deregistration or a court verdict.

3. You will vote by ranking your choices in the order of your preference: 1 for your first preference, 2 for your second preference, and so on. You may write in preferences for candidates not on the ballot.

4. If you do not wish to vote for any candidate on the ballot nor to write in a candidate, you may vote for None of the Above as your first preference. All candidates ranked under None of the Above will not receive those preferences during the counting of the votes.

5. You are permitted, but not advised, to edit your ballot within 20 minutes of posting it within this thread. Deleting your ballot at any time or editing it after 20 minutes will result in the invalidation of your vote.

6. Please check over your ballot thoroughly before you click "Post". You have no excuse for casting a ballot which contains errors or does not accurately reflect your preferences. While the alphabetically-ordered ballot below is provided for your convenience should you wish to quote this post, you may order the candidates on your ballot however you would like.

As Chief Judicial Officer, I hereby declare this polling place open at 0:00 am EST on Friday, February 20, 2015.

This is the Northeast regional polling booth for the February 20-22 election. In this polling place, Northeast citizens are electing a Governor and five members to the Assembly.

Votes for offices in this region are cast using PR-STV.  Voters who wish to preference more than one candidate should allocate a first preference for a candidate by marking a [1] in the space provided by that candidate's name, and proceeding to number as many preferences as they desire by marking a [2], [3], etc for as many candidates as they so desire.

A vote will be counted so long as the voter that casts it is eligible to vote in this election and casts  a formal ballot. A vote is formal so long as it contains numbered preferences with no duplicate numbers. A ballot containing Roman Numerals is not considered informal. A ballot in which candidates have been ranked a,b,c, etc is not considered informal so long as no letter has been repeated, and so long as a single candidate has been ranked a, for as long as the letters are consecutive with no duplicate letters. A ballot is formal if the CJO can determine the intent of the voter without interviewing that voter.

Per past practice, write-in votes are only counted for a candidate if he or she publicly declares a willingness to receive write-in votes for a particular office in the [name of election] before the polls close in the Candidate Declaration Thread or writes in his or her own name on the ballot for that particular office.

Votes for "NOTA" or "None of the Above" for any office are formal regardless of the preference assigned to it. Should a voter preference "NOTA" as well as other candidates, only his vote for "NOTA" will be counted.

This booth shall remain open until February 22nd at 11:59:59 PM EST.  Editing your ballot at any point after posting will result in disqualification of your vote. I will be strictly enforcing the time parameters of this election, voting outside of the time parameters will disqualify your ballot.

1. As mentioned in Fritz's last statement as Registrar General, I'll have the opportunity to re-register in Atlasia in two weeks. Yay! It's great to have another chance to do things well, and I really hope to keep it well this time Smiley

And to celebrate this chance and be ready when it comes, I'll finally unveil my new face after coming from the extreme surgery I mentioned before (I quote here below if you don't remember)

OK guys, now that The Four Roses Club is old history, I'm reopening my old office and moving it to a new map location ^^

I'd like to take this opportunity to express my sadness on the withdrawal of Potus2036 from the presidential election. I'll be expressing a broader opinion on the issue soon.

Also I'd like to announce that I just had extreme surgery, so I don't look like Nixon anymore xD

If you have any questions, I'll be in Virginia Beach at the Federalist convention.

So... here it is! Or should I say... here I am!

Don't I look handsome? Cheesy

2. Talking about Atlasian politics, I'd like to extend my best wishes to the incoming Bore/Bacon King Administration. I'd also like to congratulate the Northeast Assembly for the supremely great job they've been doing lately. I support the passage of the Criminalization of Blackmail Act, the Stand with the Kurds Act and the Graduate Protection Act.

STATEMENT(S)

1. 4 days! Cheesy

2. I'd like to congratulate Adam Griffin for his election as At-Large Senator, and Foucaulf, JCL and Poirot for those great campaigns.

3. I'd like to talk about two pieces of legislation discussed in the Northeast Assembly: the Minimum Wage Act and the Restoration of the Arts Act. On the first one, I understand and support the establishment of the minimum wage, but the problem of having both federal and regional legislation on the same issue generates a huge problem and even bigger confusion. I support the bill, but I'd also like to add that this is one of the top reasons why I support and we should all support these kind of issues becoming regional matters.

The Restoration of the Arts Act, on the other hand, has generated quite some controversy even outside the Northeast. While I support the spirit of it because I think educating our students on our values through modern music is an awesome and practical idea, I also think all concerns about it should also be addressed properly. This is why I welcome Governor Sawx's measure to amend it in order to make it more acceptable.

Thanks for your attention, good night and Dave bless Atlasia Smiley
