When he becomes Democratic leader in 2017 (and possibly majority leader) will he be the highest-ranking Jew in American history or am I wrong?

Technically Cabinet Secretaries are above Senate Majority Leader, and the first Jewish Cabinet Member was Oscar Straus in 1906.

Senate Majority Leader isn't in the Presidential line of succession. Jacob Lew is 5th.
