Jamaica will have a general election where they will choose between incumbent PM Portia Simpson-Miller (People’s National) and opposition leader and former PM Andrew Holness (Labour). FPTP voting, minor parties are a joke, and the parties are the opposite of what you might think if you saw the names. Simpson-Miller is fairly popular - certainly more than "Prince Andrew" - and is favoured for reelection.

Last election looked like this (yellow is PNP, green is Labour)

I love how partisan labels just don't mean anything on the scale of international politics. The Liberals, the Progressives, and the Labourites are all on the right Tongue

Americans changed the meaning of the word liberal. A European liberal is closer to classical liberalism than an American liberal.

Anyway, was looking at this result and saw Holness' party won 32-31. So possible government change in a by-election.
