Pointless in my opinion and removes a lot of the original quality.
So I stumbled on the original recording of Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair by La Dispute. It's a good album and before that I'd only ever listened to the 10th anniversary remastered version on Spotify (for whatever reason they don't have the original version). So I gave the original a try, thinking it wouldn't be much different but holy sh
it it was so much better. While the remastering made it more "clean cut" it also softened the instrumentals and took away a lot of the little quirks that added a lot to the first album. Which... really do a lot especially contributing to a more emotional, atmospheric album like this one.
