I quite like Jim Gilmore. He is still in the race, and I don't think he did a terrible job at the one debate he was allowed in ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-8F2-wIsdQ ).

Assuming the undercard debates continue, and Christie, Huckabee, Santorum, Graham, and Pataki are included, shouldn't the network at least throw Gilmore in too?

I think in a normal election cycle he would have a shot at the nomination, though the GOP seems to not be super into establishment candidates right now. Still, if he follows the Christie method and just waits for more candidates to drop out, he might see a little rise esp. if he gets back into the debates one day.

Also this Reuters has him beating Paul (granted, tracking poll):

This and the Kasich and Pataki love is why, regrettably, the Socialist avatar must be removed.

Gilmore is playing the waiting game. Once Pataki, Fiorina, Santorum, Huckabee, Carson, Graham, and Paul are gone, Gilmore will make a go at getting back in the debates, standing alongside Trump, Paul, Rubio, Cruz, Kasich, and Bush. It's not over yet!

You mean like in 2008 when he dropped out before a single primary to run for Senate, which he proceeded to lose damn near 2-1 to Mark Warner? He has a career of being hilariously incompetent.

Also Reuters is pretty much gutter trash.

So much for "workers of the world, unite!" Maybe I'm just not your kind of socialist.

Even if you don't care that Jim Gilmore is a completely irrelevant, barely funded vanity candidate with no measurable support, interesting ideas, or identifiable constituency... there is no good reason to include someone who literally is not campaigning in a debate.

He is campaigning. He is a regular on mainstream media.
