Besides FL being Rubio's home state, the IN and FL state seem to have many parallels:
  • Cruz and Rubio are both losing in the polls
  • both camped out in the state w/o campaigning anywhere else
  • both generally losing support to Trump right before the primary
  • state's governor staying out of the race
  • both tried crazy media grabs before the primary

Uh, except that Cruz's home state is Texas. Rubio was a sitting senator in FL and lost.

the polls had trump up 25 in flarda. They have him up 5-7 in indiana. this isn't close to parallel.

The difference is that there are much fewer states left, and more voters have made up their minds in the past six weeks than they have back then.  There are going to be MUCH fewer late deciders on May 3 than there were on March 15.

Cruz was poised to win Wisconsin about a week and a half before the primary.  Everything started to go in Cruz's favor when Scott Walker endorsed him.  Cruz doesn't have the same favorables here.  Wisconsin was a fluke.

What was Rubio's crazy media grab before Florida?

I think Trump will win but this is reminding me more of Iowa than Florida.

Rubio was getting crushed in FL polls weeks before the vote. Cruz is within MOE in some in IN. Rubio was doing hard campaigning in FL longer than Cruz has been in IN. We don't know that Pence is staying out of the IN race, still 6 days before the vote. Florida demographics favored Trump more than Indiana demographics.

Cruz was leading by a large margin a few weeks out and then Trump rapidly picked up steam and who knows what happens next.
