Hurr durr people I disagree with are stupid. You ever think that maybe the reason people buy into populist rhetoric like the kind Trump and Sanders are using is not stupidity, but maybe, just MAYBE they actually want to see radical change in how things are done in government? But what do I know, I'm just a stupid populist.

You are missing the "important" side of the argument.
I (and probably a majority of people in the US) don't have a problem with a "populist" and "change in how things are done in government" aspect, of what you are saying.
The "stupidity" attached to voters, comes from individuals who adore and want the "populism" and yet ignore the other major negative aspects of the candidate.

Think of it like this ....
A German citizen in late 1930's (just before the war begins) likes the populist and nationalistic side of what Hitler is saying and promising.
But, some/many German citizens ignore the fact that Hitler also talks down to some "groups" of people who reside within its borders (minorities, women, people with a "different religion," etc).
How can you/people ignore this kind of hatred, racism, bigotry and/or xenophobic talk ??

Those Germans with at least half-a-brain, can only conclude that ignoring this type of dangerous rhetoric, can only be described as "crazy" or that maybe those being fooled must be unintelligent or "stupid."

I don't see people saying that wanting change, or populism in and of themselves are stupid (though they can be, just like any course of action). It's believing that TrumpMiller will deliver (or believing him at all) that seems stupid, particularly given how blatantly untrustworthy he is.

Very true. People are sadly mistaken if they think Hillary is a lock. For god's sake, 46% of the country voted for Sarah Palin to be an old man's heartbeat away from the presidency. At the same time the incumbent Republican president destroyed the economy, led us into an endless quagmire in the Middle East, and had a 25% approval rating. You really think it would be THAT difficult for Trump to get 50%?

If Romney couldn't get 50% why would Trump?

You could probably make a case for it but I haven't heard anything but vague "muh working class whites" talk.

I take issue with people like you for this reason.    You are condescending  saying dont vote for someone like trump while ignoring the fact that Hillary Clinton is the alternative.   Id rather the guy wall street and media elites have rejected than someone like her they have propped up.

Untrustworthy = Clintons

I would say his odds are 10%-30% although maybe lower. He could raise this if he were to tie or beat Clinton in the polls any time between now and the election. A lot could depend on turnout.
So, Trump takes the lead nationally 3 days after your post (you obviously didn't see that coming).  What are his chances now?

The media loved Obama. They did not relentlessly destroy his reputation with faux scandals.

i think this election is any1s game and that clinton will do well but so will trump. maybe trump could make a serious play for the black vote by bringing up his friendship with nelson mandela and clintons "supporrt" of birtherism. clinton will also court the mormon machine.

How exactly does he bring up birtherism while avoiding the fact that he was the one who spearheaded the whole thing? Please.

I can absolutely understand people who find Clinton as bad as Trump and intend on voting for another candidate (Green, Libertarian, Conservative, whatever keeps your conscience clean). I'm waffling a little on whether voting for Clinton to stop Trump is worth it myself. (If it comes to that, which it likely will.)

But voting for Trump is unconscionable. To start with, Wall Street and the media elites have by no means rejected Trump. He's gotten billions of dollars worth of free airtime from the mainstream media. If they'd "rejected" him, he would have gotten Jill Stein levels of coverage and never have gone anywhere. He has a Goldman Sach's partner and hedge fund CEO running his campaign financing.

You're confusing a party crasher for a revolutionary. The only thing Trump will purposefully change is which slice of the elite are in government, and he won't even change that by as much as his supporters seem to think. Voting for Trump isn't overthrowing the monarchy, it's just replacing the king with his idiot brother.

And that's before getting to all the stupid, vile, self-contradictory gibberish that comes out of his mouth.

Trump was for awhile the most prominent birther in America.
