OK, here's another British-related question.

Father of the House of Commons is the longest continuously serving MP (that's why poor Michael Foot never became one due to a break). However, we've currently three MPs that took their seats on the same day in 1970: Gerald Kaufman, Dennis Skinner and Kenneth Clarke, with Kaufman getting the title.

How was that determined? Age?

Kaufman took the oath first back in 1970.
