Created using MS Paint, these are maps of the results by county for Presidential, Senatorial, and Gubernatorial elections. I will add as many as possible, but most likely they will not go further back than 1948. Blue for Democrat, red for Republican, green for Independent or third party, orange for Dixiecrat, yellow for Libertarian.

Note on the shades: unless David Leip's maps, my gradients are for >=60% (for example) instead of being only >60%. So if a candidate won a county with 60.00%, I use the 60% gradient. Also I paint counties based on their percentage rounded to the nearest tenth, so for a county won with 59.99% of the vote, I'd rate it 60.0% and paint it with the 60% color. I only go as high as 80% and as low as 30%, so a county won with 20% of the vote will have the 30% color; a 90% county will have the 80% color.

Gubernatorial maps are presented as 4 year cycles of gubernatorial races in all 50 states. Vermont, New Hampshire, and any special elections (states who had multiple gubernatorial elections during the 4 year cycles) will only show the latest result in that cycle. Example: In the map for Governor races between 2008 and 2011, West Virginia had a gubernatorial election in 2008, then a special election in 2011. The map shows the 2011 election because that was later. Also, in states that had two Senate elections in one year (for special elections), the maps only show the regular election.

I refreshed the maps for Presidential elections 1968-2012, added 1964, added Senate races 2010, 2012, 2014, added Governor races 2008-2011 and 2012-2015. Enjoy!
