It was worded in a way that I'd expect from someone with a fifth grade education (Eric Trump obviously is the red-headed stepchild of the Trumps), but what about this statement is newsworthy exactly? You just repeated the quote and didn't elaborate as to why America and Russia should have a productive, peaceful relationship.

Well yeah, the Ukrainians wanting to steal back the Crimea from Russia probably aren't going to have an easy time taking it back. That is a bad thing??

besides the fact that crimea is by now the smallest problem of ukraine (more like a billion dollar grave for moscow), that the US would officially concede that russia is allowed to occupy other countries would in fact end the practical dominance of the US system on the world stage and make washington weaker than at any other time since the second (maybe even the first) world war.

but crimea won't be the problem....the rest of the ukraine will be bombed to submission and be happy if they only have to pay in dollar and contracts. i fully believe the long awaited "neo-russia" land bridge between crimea and russia will be a matter of months.
