In spite of a spirited independent campaign by Utah citizen and Mormon Church member Evan McMullin, Utah still gave their electoral votes to Donald Trump.

Does Trump therefore owe, somewhat, the post of Secretary of State to Mormon Mitt Romney?

No, Romney bashed the don and tried to find a 3rd party candidate to stop trump. Trump doesnt owe Romney a dime.

Trump doesn't "owe" Romney shlt, but he would be very, very stupid to take the Conway approach of vengeance on those who opposed his candidacy.  If he wants to get ANYTHING done as President (and not be kicked out in four years), he won't openly antagonize "Establishment Republicans" like some in his braindead base do.

Those who overtly opposed his candidacy are no more entitled to a Cabinet position than any Democrat would be. If Romney had just stayed quiet I think he could be considered for a Cabinet position. Definitely not Secretary of State though - why would a guy who went out of his way to antagonize Russia last election be a good top ambassador for a President who wants better relations with them?

Ha! No, Romney tried to prevent Trump's election every step of the way. The only thing he didn't do was run, and win himself.
