The thing is it is impossible to separate abortion (94% of PP's pregnancy-related services) from what it does as a whole.  But, when we ban abortion, I don't have problems with it existing as long as it doesn't violate human life.  Plus, there are countless other organizations that do all of PP's non-abortion services far better than PP does.

The government shouldn't fund it, but if the market will, so be it.

The thing is though, most of what PP does actually prevents abortions. And most PP centers don't perform abortions either.

PP has a branding issue like the Libertarian Party. They claim the public agrees with and supports them, and then they openly brand themselves as an abortion provider. (although you could argue that a more accurate name would be Unplanned Unparenthood) I will defer to the God Emperor who has said they have done "wonderful things" unrelated to abortions for women, but the fact that they have done good things does not mean they are a good organization.

Total and complete FO, excluding abortion. They do vital work for woman, especially for those under the poverty line.
It should NOT be defunded. That is an insult to the women who depend on it everyday.

Appealing to a Christian with... utilitarianism? That's an interesting approach.

If Doctors Without Borders went around shooting 1/20 of their patients, would anyone take seriously an argument based on their services to the other 19?

Much of PP's non-abortion activities is referring people to real doctors.

Rather than asking leading and also weirdly counterfactual questions like this, we should be looking at why exactly we as a people have allowed ourselves to get into a situation where Planned Parenthood, or any one organization really, is so vital for health services to poor women. I suspect most American pro-lifers would not like what they would see if they made such an examination.

FO, certainly. While I do support PP performing abortions, I believe that there is a better argument against abortions than there is against the other things PP does. By providing health care, education, and birth control, PP decreases the need for abortions. Anti-abortion legislation simply provides obstacles to legal abortion, but does nothing to reduce the need/want for abortions.
