Iowa Gov Branstad seemingly has promised during the whole campaign, Trump wouldn't touch their holy cow.

Good, hopefully he follows through. Not only is the RFS not good (actually it's probably one of the worst federal policies) but it will put egg on the gops face.

that is very dumb law, almost as dumb as requiring ethanol in gasoline in the first place.

This would be devastating for a lot of midwestern communities.

Why is there so much bipartisan hate for RFS? It doesn't cost taxpayers anything.

Its an implicit government subsidy for big business so small govt types like myself hate it, and it almost entirely benefits big agra/increases food prices/does not decrease carbon emissions so consistent left liberals hate it. While clearly there are tons of issues that affect more people and to a much larger degree, I've always felt the ethanol blending requirement is one of the grossest slimiest issues in american politics. The amount of pandering required on this failed policy is a much bigger indictment of a rigged system than any of the complaints regarding citizens united.

Regardless of the merits of the policy, it's a clear conflict of Interest when Icahn who has a role in the administration is lobbying for the repeal when he stands to directly gain from the change.
