Submitting corrected testimony isn't anything out of the ordinary, Beet.  Relax.

If Hillary had lied to Congress would Republicans have been so forgiving? He made an inaccurate statement about a central fact regarding the case to Congress, to justify his violation of the Hatch Act -- for which alone he should be put in prison. The idea that he didn't know what he was saying was false is absurd. Now they are trying to pass it off as a "correction" that will happen when no one was paying attention. It's also defamation.

Ok, you hate the guy.  We get it.  That doesn't change the fact Congress will welcome his submission.

The law is the law. Or is Comey above it?

How would you like it if the FBI director made a wildly defamatory comment about you, grumps, on live TV, which resulted in a senator calling for you to be charged with a felony, and then sent a "correction" letter a few days later?

The difference that Hillary is a woman and Comey is a man. He is also part of law enforcement. In addition, he helped to elect Trump. That's the trifecta. With that behind him, he's beyond the law. Women who get uppity and try to gain access to power deserve no second chances, obviously.

I wouldn't like it one bit, Beet, but it doesn't seem like he perjured himself.  Besides, even if he wanted to commit perjury, he couldn't.......the FBI has the record and he couldn't get away with it, period.  Is he in hot water?  Yep, and he should be.  I'm not saying give him a pass I'm just saying I don't think he committed perjury.

The way we're headed, it'll be summary trial and execution and the FBI will send a letter to Congress if they killed the wrong guy because they spelled his name wrong.

Doubt the perjury had anything to do with it; not like this administration respects the rule of law.

Honestly, it probably added to the doubt Trump had in trusting Comey.

Yeah, he couldn't trust him not to talk to the press about the Trump campaign's actions.

To the extent he deserved to be thrown out on his ass, nothing Trump has ever done has made me viscerally happier. I feel like having that fine cigar with Roger Stone. Do I believe Trump did it because Comey was too mean to Hillary or Huma, as opposed to that he wasn't being sufficiently kowtowed to over the Russia investigation of his campaign, I'd sooner get a degree from Trump University.
