My money would be on Hanabusa clearing the field, like she did for her current congressional seat last election.

Tulsi Gabbard would probably try. Maybe Hanbusa. I like them both equally, so I would not show up for the primary since I could not pick one over the other.

I'd say Gabbard would run, and she has a high profile so she'd probably be favored. Hanabusa would probably try again, but she's way older than Gabbard and Hawaii loves seniority so I think Gabbard wins.

Edit: Yeah, the Japanese-American community would likely be strongly behind Hanabusa. The primary would be very competitive.

Tulsi Gabbard would almost certainly run.

I'm not sure Hanabusa would have the support of everyone in the establishment against anyone other than Gabbard.

I think the Japanese American community would pull for Hanabusa hard. They wouldn't have a Senate seat from Hawaii for the first time in decades.

Probably Hanabusa, who previously left the House to run a primary challenge against Schatz.

Gabbard would leap on it and almost certainly win.

I would say Tulsi Gabbard would run for sure. Hanabusa likely would try too. But maybe not though, because Hanabusa can have her house seat for as long as she wants it, and she may not want to risk losing elected office again now that she has her seat back. But I still bet she goes for it, and Hanabusa probably wins in a close race against Gabbard.

Also-- maybe Ed Case runs too? He's run for Senate twice and may be interested in an open seat.

I think it could be crowded, with Ed Case, Ikaika Anderson, Colleen Hanabusa, and Tulsi Gabbard. If Hanneman were to run, I don't know what would happen. However, with those four, I suspect Case would win.

No way. Hawaii's gotta have at least one AAPI Senator.
