Background:
About 5 years ago, the historical text of our national anthem was changed from "land of great sons" to "land of great daughters and sons".
This created a HUGE controversy because it was a historical, copyrighted text and even their heirs of the composer were against changing the text to include daughters.
Most people in stadiums still sing the anthem without the "daughters", even many women. Which creates a nasty mix of people singing it with the reference and some without it and people always awkwardly laugh after the anthem has ended ...
