No Opinion.... (regardless and the avatar name and posting history).
Honestly, one must certainly ask the question "Is Russian Bear an individual poster?", with a follow-up question "is Russian Bear an actual Russian?"....
Although I haven't done a conclusive analysis, it appears that there is an extreme shift in English language syntax and style between Russian Bear 1.0 vs Russian Bear 2.0.
Sure: "Russian Bear's" posting history exhibits extremely strong trolling tendencies, for all we know this is one or more "sock accounts" from previously banned Atlas Posters....
If Russian Bear is an actual Russian:
1.) In an autocratic dictatorship such as Putin's Russia every electronic communication entering and leaving the country is carefully monitored (Especially leaving the Country in the event there is anything that might be viewed as disloyal to the Russian Czar.
2.) Russians have a habit going back decades and decades of speaking in code and jokes when it comes to criticizing their own elites (Even more so when it comes to outsiders).
3.) Domestic Russian support for Putin appears to be high, as a direct result of his administration shifting blame elsewhere, most recently in the form of "protecting oppressed ethnic Russians throughout Central and Eastern Europe").
4.) Despite the dramatic decrease in adult male life span within Russia since the rise of the Oligarchs, there is still an extremely high level of education, including English language studies and CS Degrees, etc....
5.) In the event that "Russian Bear" is actually "Russian" it is entirely plausible that this might be able to explain what appears to be a relatively decent mastery of the English language, understanding of US domestic political dynamics, and also a visceral hatred of the Democratic Party....
6.) That being said, we go have some folks on Atlas that are fluent in Russian that might likely be able to expose a "Russian Imposter" who is using Google Translate to occasionally throw in terms from the old language.
I would imagine that regional dialects within Russia differ, as well as cultural references, etc and if Russian Bear is a sock, there is more than one way to skin a cat (Despite the fact that it it might be easy to mask IP addresses to make it appear that the poster's account comes from Russia)....
I posit that Russian Bear is not actually Russian but rather if not a sock of a banned poster, at minimum a Trumpista Troll using the Russian gig as his "schtick" to gain attention and notoriety.
What say the other honorable ladies and gentlemen of the Jury?
