Catherine Cortez Masto has a similar background to Kamala Harris, but she is not being discussed as much as Harris. Some of that has to do with the fact that Harris is acting more like a potential candidate than Masto.

If she were to run, what would be the pros and cons of a Masto 2020 run.

Pros- Hispanic Female from a potential swing state
Cons- no access to top democrat donors, too green, doesn't have her own machine built.

Pros:
Incumbent Senator
No baggage (that we know of)
Young, female, Hispanic
From a swingy state/region
Past experience as an AG positions her well to go on the attack, undercut Trump's law & order message

Cons:
Only will have been in the Senate for 4 years
Untested/unvetted
Little to no name recognition or donor access (would obviously change if she won the nomination, but a problem for the primary)

Haven't seen her speak so I'm unsure which category (if either) her charisma/speaking ability would fall into.

As in "not ready," in the sense that an unripe banana is green. It's an Americanism.

If the Democrats are serious about beating Trump in 2020, they need to nominate the most unquestionably qualified ticket they can come up with.
