I'm not a club person, but for bars:

Seattle, WA: too many to pick, but I'll suggest Gainsbourg
Portland, OR: Raven & Rose
Washington, DC: Black Jack/Tilt
Vancouver, BC: Steamworks Brew Pub
Whistler, BC: Dubh Linn Gate

I'm not much of a drinker, so atmosphere is a big decider for me. I really wouldn't know if any of these places actually have good beer.

London: Corsica Studios is just about my favourite place on the planet. The Cause is pretty good too but that's closing at the end of the year sadly. Pub is the Dublin Castle.
Glasgow: Sub Club of course
Manchester: The Warehouse Project I guess? Idk.
Berlin: Griessmuehle is pretty cool. Haven't been to Berghain.

When I was in America a couple of years ago I had a great time at The Local in Atlanta on Monday karaoke night. In Memphis B.B. King's Blues Club was a blatant tourist trap but they played SRV so I enjoyed it. And Honky Tonk Central on Nashville Broadway was the most American thing I have witnessed in my entire life. Incredible scenes there.

Eclectic mix. Hipster places, college bars, high-end cocktail bars, and everything in between. I travel a lot, so I love a good hotel bar (esp. rooftop), and I've actually really embraced the Moxy lobby bar concept. (although I wouldn't stay in one...)

New York: Prohibition, Sing Sing St. Marks Pl
Chicago: Violet Hour, Big Star, Palmer House lobby bar, Moxy lobby bar
Singapore: D Bespoke, Whiskey Library (Vagabond Club)
Tel Aviv: Dizzy Frishdon
London: Gordon's Wine Bar, No. Ten Hotel cigar bar
Taipei: Marco Polo Lounge (Far Eastern Plaza)
Ottawa: Copper (Andaz)
Lexington: Tin Roof, Beer Trappe
Hong Kong: Ozone (Ritz-Carlton)
Kuala Lumpur: Vertigo (Banyan Tree)
Vancouver: D/6 (Douglas Hotel)
Bangkok: Hi-So (So Sofitel)
Las Vegas: Anything in the Cosmopolitan or Wynn

But really, the best bar is the one where the best people (your friends) are at. Everything else is gravy.

I don't go to bars often at all, but Kens Tavern and Poor Pauls in Tally and The Speakeasy in Vero are the only ones I've enjoyed.

Gramps is a great bar in Miami. In D.C., Nellie's Sports Bar of course. I haven't been to enough bars anywhere else.

The bar where I can come in looking like ****, get a drink, and not be judged.
