Resignation

Dear President Joe Republic,

Please accept my resignation from the Supreme Court of the Republic.

My reasons for this action are simple: I feel that I can use my talents for the betterment of the nation elsewhere. The nation has once again reached a crossroads in its history where reform measures are failing, and the circumstances of my position on the Court mean that I am unable to involve myself as much as I would like in these affairs.

I wish to thank you for the trust you showed in me by appointing me as our nation's third Chief Justice. I wish you the best of luck in appointing a successor.

I didn't fully expect this, but its not a total surprise either.  Recusal obligations limit your ability to give advice as CJ, so it makes sense.
