Can McBride overcome Harris' lead and win tomorrow's FL GOP Senatorial primary? I'm hoping but I think Harris has this one.

No

McBride wouldn't beat Nelson anyway.

I actually think there is a tiny chance he could. Very tiny though.

I'd vote for LeRoy Collins, a Southern Governor who refused to play the race card.

Except he is the son of that Governor, not the Governor himself.

If the anti-Harris vote realizes that only he can win that might give him a shot.

Even if there was a chance, that would be negated by Nelson's 15:1 cash advantage.

Very true. And more importantly, Harris's 1,000,000:1 craziness advantage over either McBride or Collins ensures a more entertaining general election.

I'm not saying McBride could ever beat Nelson. I'm just saying he has a slight chance at beating Harris.

I know. If the father was running, Bill Nelson would be running scared.

I'd be running scared too if I was running against someone who passed away fifteen years ago.

Money doesn't buy elections, only exposure.

It's easy to lose when you don't even have name recognition and can't afford ads, but after a point there are diminishing returns on spending.

To borrow a phrase of the fiscally responsible: you don't win elections simply by throwing money at them.

Take heart, GOP, there's always 2012 for Bill Nelson.

Well Harris won with 50% of the vote. So how stupid are half of Florida Republican primary voters?

It's not impossible to imagine an unusually high number of GOPers showing up to dump Harris, thus causing a McBride victory. What would this mean exactly? It means that the Florida GOP would lose the race by 25 points instead of 40.
