Massive FF and another example why Ohio Republicans were the best statewide party in the 2010s.

Neither. Not that great, but much better than the average Republican these days, which is a low bar.

I heard his were almost as bad as some big blue states like the aforementioned. I think the GOP should be a completely different party instead of just being the less bad version of the Democrats, ideologically speaking

A conservative party that tries to have bolder ideas than their liberal foes and out promise Democrats to desperate voters is how we get reactionary dysfunction.

Sort of okayish for a Republican, although that is not saying much. Without the existence of Trumpism, I'd probably vote HP.

HP.

Part of the same riff raff known as the Republican Revolution of 1994. Thank the stars Sherrod Brown took the guy out...too bad no one else has.

Neutral. Better than most Republican Govs outside of the northeast, but still a quite conservative Republican. DeWine is meh.

Contrasting on every issue is a great way to rip yourself into shreds.

There were many issues where Reagan for example did not challenge the New Deal orthodoxy because he knew it would be suicide, and Trump did likewise promising to "totally protect social security" for example.

There were a lot of people, especially towards the beginning that supported the lock downs and then supported the mask mandates. Generally speaking it is not ideal to contrast by taking the losing side of a 75-25 issue.

Contrasting for the sake of contrasting is a dumb strategy.
You have to be tactical about it.
