Here's a fairly meaningless map I threw together. Basically I drew a district around each Costco in Minnesota encompassing the likely space it draws its customer base from. I did not include the Costco in Northeast Minneapolis because that is a specifically business-oriented one.

Obviously people can go to more to one Costco and do, but it's a good approximation. Some places like Kanabec County really didn't neatly fit anywhere as did some of the suburbs that were about equidistant from multiple ones. Also I bet a lot of people in the white areas do have Costco memberships and only shop when visiting the metro or the other outstate cities which is often frequently.

The white area voted for Trump 61.83-35.94. This is actually less than 4 (Brainerd) and 5 (St. Cloud) which were Trump 66.65-31.48 and 63.76-33.94 respectively. Biden's best was 8 (St. Louis Park) which includes most of Minneapolis, at 80.17-17.53.

The Costco locations are:

1-West Fargo, ND
2-Rochester
3-Duluth
4-Brainerd
5-St. Cloud
6-Coon Rapids
7-Maple Grove
8-St. Louis Park
9-Burnsville
10-Eden Prairie
11-White Bear Lake
12-Woodbury
13-Eagan

I'm mostly shocked that the entire state of Minnesota has just 13 Costcos. Idrk what I expected, but it was certainly more than that.

12. One is in Fargo (Well actually West Fargo.) Although I did exclude the business one in Northeast Minneapolis...so yeah actually I guess there technically is 13.

It actually hit me after making this I could've made a Sioux Falls one too.

But anyway, that sounds about right? There's only 2 in North Dakota, and Minnesota has just over 7x the population.
