I didn't say anyone was wrong to expose anyone.  Vitter made his own problem so let the chips fall for him.  What I was saying  is that  the motives of people on the left were gotcha politics to advance an agenda..  Someone like Flynt saying he's "just interested in exposing Republicans" is evidence of exactly that.  That's rather clear I think.

How does evidence of what motivates Flynt translate into evidence of what motivates a large section of the population of an entire nation?

That said - of course there is gotcha politics involved in this. You say that as if gotcha politics to advance an agenda was not the norm for both the GOP and the Dems. It's almost all gotcha BS in Washington with partisans on each side sheepishly pretending their side doesn't do it. We have created an adversarial two party system where gotcha politics plays well with the voters and the media. It's what the American people respond to (dumb as dirt as they can be at times).

And again, no s***. Larry Flynt himself would agree with you. Give the man props for openly admitting he's biased instead of faking independence and that he does not support one group over the other, like Bill O'Reilly and Wolf Blitzer do.

Repeating the person before me...

Also interesting to note, everyone mentions this as an affair, which it is not. They are dates with prostitutes.

While I doubt the senate will censure and remove him from office, which they'd normally do, but won't because there is more of them, in both parties, who used the prostitutes probably, he may resign soon. If he does, Blanco can appoint Kennedy and undercut Karl Rove.

He is not going to resign and even if he did and Blanco did appoint Kennedy,He would most likely switch parties as soon as he got in there.

Well until Vitter comfirms what "sins" are, I say he will resign. It's not like he just had an affair. The man is leading us to believe he hired numerous prostitutes, which is illegal.

Vitter probably will resign - right after Governor Jindel takes office.

Gay marriage is something out in the open saying "Hey I want to ruin marriage and make a mockery of it!"  Adultery is much more personal and does not come out in the open and can worked through.  People reconciling after that usually makes for a feel-good story.

Wow what an idiot.  The only thing that matters in marriage is love, really, regardless of gender.

Explain to the unenlightened how, exactly, gay marriage debases marriage in a way that cheating does not debase marriage.

The 7th Commandment reads Thou shall not commit adultery . It is adultery which makes a mockery of marriage, be it heterosexual or otherwise

Senator Vitter has made a mockery of his his marriage, just like any other adulterer. Who is he to pontificate on the sanctity of marriage?

Bad news for GOP with Flynt involved.  He's already said in his "search" Dems will not be revealed.  Doesn't fit his agenda.  At least he's honest about his motives.   Democratic hanky panky would be ignored by the MSM even if he released the names (he won't anyway).  Kennedy - Dodd waitress sandwichs and such are off limits to reporting.  Lets just call the whole thing what it is  - gotcha politics.  Anyone saying otherwise isn't being honest.

So this is just Flynt playing a politcal hit man against the Republicans?

No, Flynt's just going after sanctimonious hypocrites and he's more likely than not to find them among Republicans Wink. He can expose Democrats, too, if he wants providing they've got on their high horse on the sanctity of marriage to the extent that Vitter has

And just to make Vitter look smart, we get Republican Florida State Rep Bob Allen - who was arrested yesterday after offering an undercover police officer $20 if he could give the officer a blow job.

Allen told a television reporter that what happened was a "misunderstanding." But Hutchinson said the lawmaker did not dispute the undercover officer's version of what happened in the park.

I want to know what "misunderstanding" led the party to put up this sorry excuse for George Michael.

Great to see your not only not smart enough to figure out Fantasy Politics, but you also have a hard time comprehending the "different people have different opinions" thing.  That's the best part about freedom, you can have whatever opinion you want, and in this case I would say ever state that has voted on it agrees with and not you.

I'm smart enough to know the difference between "your" and "you're".  And how to spell "every".

Ha, Larry King had the DC Madam, her lawyer, and Larry Flynt on last night ( http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0707/17/lkl.01.html , transcript - scoll down about half way) and Larry assures us that more Senators are yet to be named (but will be soon) and that he has proof David Vitter is lying about his associations with New Orleans hookers (not that anybody thinks he isn't).

The really funny thing that got point out was by the lawyer ....... "Please understand that this is one escort service out of approximately 60 in the Metro D.C. area. And indeed there are more escort services than there are McDonald's in D.C."

So?  That doesn't negate what I said.  Human lives are ridiculously brief.  Live it up young man, before you're too old to enjoy.
